"As a mother, one of my biggest heartaches was watching my child struggle with anxiety and not be able to ease it for him. Chris was able to gain his trust quickly and get him to a much better place. Chris was thorough in his explanation and executed exactly as he described. My son is now able to participate in daily activities outside of the house and his anxiety level has decreased dramatically." -M.H., Fishers "It's crazy to think about, but I felt like an absolute disaster this time last year. Treatment Approaches
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is an evidence-based approach found to be effective in thousands of clinical trials for many different disorders. CBT therapists explore their patients' thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, as well as the situational factors that contribute to distress. CBT is structured, goal-oriented, skill-based, and hands-on. |
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
ERP is the gold-standard therapy approach for obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and phobias. It works by gradually confronting fears to break the link with avoidance behaviors or compulsions that may relieve distress in the short-term but actually worsen the cycle of anxiety over time. |
Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE)
Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), is a first-line, evidence-based therapy for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The habitual avoidance of trauma memories and situational reminders can reinforce fears and lead to chronic feelings of distress. Through PE, survivors of sexual assault or violence overcome fears and reduce distress by gradually learning to confront both the memories and the reminders of trauma. |
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
EMDR is a psychotherapy approach that promotes healing from the symptoms and emotional distress that arise from distressing life experiences. An evidence-based treatment for trauma, EMDR therapists follow a structured, eight-phase approach that is also effective in alleviating more "common" painful memories and negative beliefs that lead to the doubt, avoidance, and rumination that underpin anxiety and depressive disorders. |
